10 of the Most Romantic Activities in Paris for an Unforgettable Couples Getaway
Heading to Paris with your beau? It’s no secret that Paris is the most romantic city in the world, but the endless amount of choices for things to do as a couple can be overwhelming. We recently spent a full week in Paris for our 10 year dating anniversary and also spent a long weekend here back in 2018 to celebrate our engagement, so we’ve spent a lot of time in the city as a couple! If you’re looking to turn up the romance, you can’t go wrong with this list of 10 of the most romantic activities in Paris for couples, which will ensure you have an unforgettable trip together.
1. Enjoy a romantic dinner at Le Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower
If you’re looking for quintessential Paris romance, you can’t get any better than dinner at a Michelin star restaurant in the Eiffel Tower. We had dinner at Le Jules Verne recently for our 10 year dating anniversary and it was the highlight of our trip! The food was excellent and it was such an experience taking a funicular up the tower to get to the restaurant.
Pro Tip: Arrive a bit early to access the restaurant’s viewing deck ahead of your reservation. Don’t forget to reserve your table well in advance as this place does book up quickly!
2. Take in the view from the Rooftop at Galeries Lafayette
One of the lesser known spots for visitors in Paris, the rooftop at Galeries Lafayette Haussman offers a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower and surrounding city. Enter the department store and take the escalator all the way up to the rooftop to take in the view.
Pro Tip: Head here after dark and just before the top of the hour to catch the famous Eiffel Tower sparkle.
3. Go for a stroll around Le Marais
Le Marais is one of our favorite neighborhoods in Paris – we could spend the whole day wandering the cobblestone streets and exploring the endless number of shops, food, and art galleries that the neighborhood has to offer.
Pro Tip: after checking out the beautiful Place de Vosges (which a fellow traveler told us was her favorite park in all of Paris!), stroll along the arched pathways surrounding the square to check out the modern art galleries and gourmet french eateries.
4. Sip on fancy cocktails at The Little Red Door
Named one of the Top 50 bars in the world, The Little Red Door is the perfect spot to have some pre-dinner cocktails with your beau near Le Marais. The cocktails here are unique and delicious and the atmosphere is intimate but lively. If you’re planning to head here spontaneously, know that there is usually a line and a bit of wait.
Pro Tip: make reservations online for their Farm to Glass Cocktail Tasting experience to ensure you can walk right in.

5. Taste the best meringue of your life at Aux Merveilleux de Fred
If you have a sweet tooth, the Aux Merveilleux de Fred gourmet pastry shop is a can’t miss! They have a ton of locations throughout Paris, but we stopped at the one on Rue Lepic on our way up to explore Montmartre.
Pro Tip: get the meringue! It was truly out of this world – crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside.
6. Experience a French cabaret show at Crazy Horse
While there are many cabaret shows to experience in Paris, including Moulin Rouge, we really enjoyed the cabaret at Crazy Horse! It was fun and sexy and made for a perfect date night.
Pro Tip: arrive early to have dinner at Chez Francis down the street, where you can order an epic seafood tower with a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower.
7. Relax and enjoy a picnic in Luxembourg Gardens
Pick up some local wine and snacks and set up a romantic picnic in the gorgeous Luxembourg Gardens during the warmer months.
Pro Tip: head to the patch of grass just in front of the Luxembourg Palace, where you’ll be surrounded by locals and Parisian charm.
8. Explore the local food and drink along the Rue Des Martyrs
One of the most charming streets in Paris, the Rue Des Martyrs will make you want to rent an apartment nearby just so you can eat all the delicious foods the local shops have to offer! There are so many restaurants and cafés to try here that you’ll want to hop from place to place all evening.
Pro Tip: stop by Arnaud Delmontel bakery to try the awarded best baguette in Paris!

9. Go shopping at the best Perfumeries in Paris
A trip to Paris wouldn’t be complete without shopping for some exquisite French perfumes. The whole experience can be quite fun as a couple since French scents are unisex and can be worn by both men and women.
Pro Tip: our favorite perfumeries were Serge Lutens and L’Artisan Parfumeur (the L’Artisan shops had special little machines for smelling all the scents which were so fun!)
10. Have dinner at a local French restaurant
A romantic trip to Paris wouldn’t be complete without dinner at a fabulous local French restaurant. While this may seem like a given, it can be difficult to find a local Parisian restaurant that isn’t part of the typical tourist loop.
Pro Tip: make a reservation at Titi Graille in Montmartre. The food was fabulous and our waiter was fun and charming, which made for a wonderful last meal on our recent anniversary trip.
